What's New?

The Law of One (2010)

This section represents something new on my part. I have looked at the topic of aliens and UFOs in general terms and have concluded that the material is consistent in an overall way with the theory of mental symmetry. I will now take a reasonably detailed look at a set of ‘transmissions’ that were supposedly channelled through a human subject from the alien entity known as ‘Ra’. I have taken my information from, where the questions to Ra and the answers from Ra can be found in an organized, searchable database.

I decided to analyze these writings because:

1) They are quite extensive (thousands of pages of transcripts over several years).

2) They are considered by others to be an important source of UFO related material.

3) The material itself is logically presented and describes a coherent frame of reference.

4) The material states that earth is currently undergoing a major transformation.

I should mention that I will be taking a rational and logical approach to aliens in general and the Law of One in particular. I will assume that the information that is being given in the Law of One is both logical and coherent. This may or may not be the case, but if you want to analyze something rationally, then you must also treat it rationally. I also will not make any judgment calls regarding the method by which this information was received, but simply treat it as a theoretical structure presented by an alien mind that needs to be analyzed.

I should also say that I am using the theory of mental symmetry, applied with blind logic and raw symmetry, to attempt to analyze something which I personally have never experienced.

The approach that I take to the alien realm is described elsewhere, but I mention the essential highlights here:

1) I assume that humans and aliens have the same minds, as described by the diagram of mental symmetry. In other words, ‘they’ and us are exactly the same inside.

2) I assume that alien ‘bodies’, along with the alien ‘universe’, are the mirror-image of human bodies and the human universe. By mirror image, I mean that the left and right sides of the diagram of mental symmetry are mirror images of one another. First, Teacher and Mercy are opposites. Teacher works with words, energy, vibrations, and personal names. Mercy works with experiences, matter, physical sensation, and physical bodies. Second, Server and Perceiver are also opposites. Server handles actions, time, and sequence. Perceiver deals with power, space, and objects. As for Exhorter, Contributor, and Facilitator, each of these three can function in one of two symmetrical modes of operation.

There are two fundamental circuits in the mind, which I describe as practical Contributor thought and intellectual Contributor thought. I describe these more in my analysis of MBTI. The human body allows the human mind to use practical Contributor thought to interact with the human universe: Mercy strategy is initially programmed with physical sensations and physical experiences, and Server strategy uses physical actions to move through the physical world and change physical reality.

By symmetry, the alien ‘body’ (which I will put in ‘’ to distinguish it from the human body) allows the alien mind to use intellectual Contributor thought to interact with the alien ‘universe’ (notice the ‘’): Teacher strategy is initially programmed with alien energy and vibrations, and Perceiver strategy uses power to ‘move’ between these waves and to change vibrations.

(Note from 2015: This essay uses the language of MBTI® splits quite extensively, so please read the following paragraphs carefully. I still think that the MBTI® terminology is correct and helpful, but I have not found any need to use it in the more recent essays.)

3) I suggest in my analysis of MBTI® that the four MBTI® divisions are a result of the interaction between the human body and the mind. The mind begins life void of content and acquires its initial content from the body and the external surroundings. Because the initial content of the human mind comes from the human body, this content is governed by the four MBTI® divisions and falls reasonably well into the 16 types produced by these four divisions. But, these four divisions do not reflect the structure of the mind itself. Instead, they result from the interaction between the mind and the body, and result in fragmented and incomplete mental circuits. Reaching mental maturity means integrating these four divisions in order to achieve mental wholeness. When the mind is whole, then the two mental circuits of practical and intellectual Contributor thought function properly and cooperate with one another. My analysis of Christianity (which is sufficiently detailed to derive all major Christian doctrines) is based upon this premise.

The model of MBTI® divides these four splits into the primary divisions of Thinking versus Feeling and Sensing versus iNtuition, and the secondary divisions of Perceiver versus Judging and Introverted versus Extraverted. In addition, I suggest that the four MBTI® divisions need to be integrated in a specific order: First T/F, then P/J, then S/N, and finally I/E. Let us look at the first split, which is between Feeling and Thinking. Feeling takes a single emotional experience and believes that the arrangement of that specific incident defines universal Perceiver truth. Thus, as I mention elsewhere, if one angry dog bit me, then I will know that all dogs always bite. Or if I have an experience of seeing swarthy foreigners connected with the collapse of the Trade Towers on 9/11, then I will know that all swarthy foreigners are terrorists.

Thinking, in contrast, comes from repeated physical interaction with the real world. I live in a world of physical matter, in which objects do not change shape or appear, disappear and reappear spontaneously. This repetition leads to the development of Perceiver thought, which organizes Mercy experiences into solid categories which do not change. When dealing with personal experiences and emotional issues, Feeling rules; in the objective realm of common sense, Thinking governs thought.

According to UFO literature, neither of these factors exist within the alien realm. First, aliens have no innate sense of Mercy feelings. Instead, they seem to suffer from a total lack of human emotions, treating humans as laboratory specimens. Second, alien objects do change, and they do appear, disappear, and reappear. Therefore, there is no inherent reason for aliens to suffer from the human split between Thinking and Feeling.

However, I suggest that a mirror-image being would suffer from the mirror-image to the division between Thinking and Feeling. This alien version would be a split between Teacher energy and Server sequence. Just as the human mind is initially programmed by physical Mercy sensations of pain and pleasure, so the alien mind would initially be programmed by Teacher sensations of energy, order, and disorder. If the alien mind resonated personally with some Teacher wave or vibration, then Server thought within the mind of the alien would be mesmerized into ‘knowing’ that this single Server sequence occurs always, eternally, and universally. This is the mirror-image to Perceiver thought in the human mind being mesmerized by the strong emotions of some defining Mercy event and ‘knowing’ that the facts of this specific event describe universal Perceiver ‘truth’. Notice that human Feeling extrapolates from a single Mercy experience to universal Perceiver truth, whereas alien ‘Feeling’ would extrapolate from a single Teacher ‘wave’ to universal Server sequence.

Thinking versus Feeling is a right hemisphere division involving the two right hemisphere modes of Perceiver and Mercy. (Note that Perceiver is a cognitive style; Perceiving is an MBTI® category.) The other primary human division is the left hemisphere division between Sensing and iNtuition, which involves Server and Teacher thought. Server thought is the part of the mind that controls the physical body; Server strategy can express itself through physical action. Teacher strategy controls the mouth; it can express itself through speech. Because Server and Teacher strategies each have their own way of sending output to the external world, Sensing and iNtuition can develop in parallel, each ignoring the other. Sensing using physical action to interact with the physical world; iNtuition uses speech and words to build general theories. Sensing is guided by confidence in actions; iNtuition is driven by the Teacher emotion produced by a general theory.

Again, when we look at the mirror-image alien situation, it appears that these constraints do not apply. On the one hand, aliens do not produce speech like humans. Instead, they seem to communicate telepathically, without using sound and acoustic vibrations. In addition, aliens also do not seem to have the natural ability to produce physical movement. Instead, physical movement appears to be something unnatural for them, an ability that is artificially generated by the use of some sort of temporary physical container.

However, symmetry suggests that the alien mind would suffer from the mirror-image of the division between Sensing and iNtuition. On the ‘Sensing’ side, aliens would be able to use Perceiver power to manipulate their environment of waves and energy. On the ‘iNtuitive’ side, they would be able to communicate through the use of Mercy images, which would be viewed by a human recipient as visual Mercy movies. And just as human iNtuition focuses upon general Teacher theories, so these visual movies would communicate grand scenarios of universal import.

Human Sensing tends to avoid major issues. Instead, it uses the physical body to live in the here and now, focusing upon specifics and minor details. Similarly, alien ‘Sensing’ would also concern itself with minor sequences and specific order and structure.

In order to distinguish the human version from the alien version, I will put the alien version in ‘’. Summarizing the two basic divisions: Sensing describes a human emphasis upon specific Server actions; ‘Sensing’ refers to an alien emphasis upon specific Perceiver power. INtuition describes a human emphasis upon oral communication and general Teacher theories; ‘iNtuition’ refers to an alien focus upon visual communication and general Mercy scenarios. Feeling describes a human mindset which uses specific emotional Mercy situations to define universal Perceiver truth; ‘Feeling’ describes an alien mindset that uses specific emotional Teacher sequences to define universal Server sequence. Thinking refers to Perceiver facts in the human mind that ignore subjective Mercy feelings; ‘Thinking’ describes Server sequences in the alien mind that ignore subjective Teacher emotions.

Therefore, I will approach the Law of One with the assumption that the aliens which are communicating this message are subject to the alien version of the MBTI® splits. Thus, when Ra talks about a universal sequence, it is possible that he might be using alien ‘Feeling’—taking a specific Server sequence that ‘he’ or ‘they’ have encountered and inflating this specific personal Server sequence into a universal Server sequence. Similarly, when Ra presents a grand Mercy scheme of cosmology, it is possible that his mind is subject to the alien version of ‘iNtuition’.

And, if a human specifically tells you that Perceiver logic and Server sequence are not acceptable, then you can know for certain that both Feeling and iNtuition are being followed. Similarly, if an alien tells you that Server sequence and Perceiver logic are not acceptable, then you can also know for certain that this alien is using ‘Feeling’ and ‘iNtuition’.

This theoretical introduction was fairly brief and assumes that the reader is reasonably acquainted with the theory of mental symmetry. You will find more material elsewhere on the website, and I suggest looking especially at my latest analysis of MBTI here.

Now that we know the basic theory, let us turn our attention to the text of the Law of One, beginning with some general observations. I will be quoting from the website You can search on the site if you want to find the specific reference.

Energy versus Physical Body

A human inhabits a Mercy-based physical body. I have suggested that an alien lives within Teacher-based energy. A human body can talk using a mouth to produce waves of sound. A mirror-image alien body cannot. As this quote indicates, Ra obviously approaches people from the viewpoint of Teacher energy:

“I am Ra. This instrument is not wearing the appropriate apparel for this work. As inpourings occur in the regions of the, what you may call, seventh chakra as you speak of these energy centers, filtering through the sixth and so forth, the entity’s other or base chakras become somewhat de-energized. Thus, this entity should be more careful in its selection of warm apparel for the part of the body complex you call the feet.”

Instead of saying, “put on heavier shoes”, Ra waxes eloquent about energy chakras being de-energized.

Still in the context of shoes, Ra also indicates that speech is not a normal means of communication for him:

“I am Ra. This instrument is well aligned. You are being very conscientious. We request you take more care in being assured that this instrument is wearing footwear of what you would call, vibratory sound complex, shoes.”

This phrase “what you would call, vibratory sound complex” occurs quite often. It indicates that Ra does not use speech, and that he is describing speech using theoretical Teacher terms.

Ra is also describes other parts of the human body from a theoretical, foreign perspective, focusing upon blockage of Teacher energy and referring to the body as an ‘entity’:

“As we requested previously it would be well to observe the angles taken by the more upright posture of the entity. It is causing some nerve blockage in the portion of the body complex called the elbows.”

And, for one more quote referring to the human physical body in terms of Teacher energy and Server function:

“I am Ra. Please be aware that this instrument is somewhat fatigued. The channel is very clear. However, we find the vital energy low. We do not wish to deplete the instrument. However, there is, shall we say, an energy exchange that we feel an honor/duty to offer when this instrument opens itself. Therefore, counsel we this instrument to attempt to assess the vital energies carefully before offering itself as open channel.”

Physical pain is a foreign concept to Ra, and is also described in clinical, Teacher-based terms, along with the effect of pain upon the flow of Teacher communication:

“I am Ra. This instrument, while fully open to our narrow-band contact, at times experiences a sudden strengthening of the distortion which you call pain. This weakens the contact momentarily. This type of increased distortion has been occurring in this instrument’s bodily complex with more frequency in the time period which you may term the previous fortnight. Although it is not normally a phenomenon which causes difficulties in transmission, it did so twice in the previous working. Both times it was necessary to correct or rectify the contact.”

An Overview of the Law of One

Aliens Names: A human lives in a physical body composed of Mercy matter. By symmetry, an alien inhabits a Teacher name, a verbal description of a finite Teacher structure. Humans also use names to refer to people. For instance, the name ‘butcher’ describes a person who lives within the finite Teacher structure of ‘cutting meat’. Consistent with this, the word angel means messenger—also a verbal package of finite Teacher structure. Every answer in the Law of One begins with the phrase ‘I am Ra’, signifying the importance of a name to an alien. It is as if the alien is defining himself before he communicates.

Teacher Existence: Essentially everything within the Law of One is described in terms of waves, sequences, vibrations, energy, and lines. In other words, Ra really appears to live within a complete ‘universe’ composed of Teacher energy and not within a human universe composed of Mercy-based physical matter.

Symmetry between the human and alien realms: I found it very interesting that the human universe is referred to as space/time and the alien realm is described as time/space. This implies a symmetry between Perceiver space and Server time. The Law of One also states that space/time is subject to the natural laws of physics, whereas time/space is governed by the ‘natural’ laws of metaphysics. Similarly, mental symmetry suggests that the supernatural is not a realm of law breaking miracles, but rather is governed by its own set of ‘natural’ laws. In the words of Ra:

“I perceive a basic miscalculation upon your part in that time/space is no more homogenous than space/time. It is as complex and complete a system of illusions, dances, and pattern as is space/time and has as structured a system of what you may call natural laws.”

Ra states clearly that both the natural and the supernatural have their own systems of order and structure. However, Ra states this symmetry in alien terms, talking not about Perceiver natural law, but rather of Server ‘dance and pattern’.

Alien split between ‘Thinking’ and ‘Feeling’: Ra makes a distinction between the mechanical laws of space/time and time/space and the more personal and significant issues of personal development:

“I am Ra. Since the concepts of space/time, or physics, and time/space, or metaphysics, are mechanical they are not central to the spiritual evolution of the mind/body/spirit complex. The study of love and light is far more productive in its motion towards unity in those entities pondering such concepts. However, this material is, shall we say, of some small interest and is harmless.”

On the one hand we have the ‘mechanical’ side of space/time and time/space. Because it is mechanical, it resides within the alien non-emotional fragment of ‘Thinking’. Notice that Ra says ‘mechanical’ and not ‘objective’. Objective is a human category, referring to Perceiver objects which lack Mercy emotions. Mechanical, in contrast is an alien category, describing Server sequences which lack Teacher feelings.

Notice also that the ‘spiritual evolution of the mind/body/spirit complex’ is related to ‘love and light’. Light relates to Teacher energy. Love, in the human mind, relates to Mercy thought, and describes emotional interaction between one human being and another. Since an alien lives within Teacher energy, both light and love would be seen as subjective, and would reside within alien Teacher-based ‘Feeling’.

Alien split between ‘Sensing’ and ‘iNtuition’: In the human mind, iNtuition uses Teacher words to construct grand theories that are unrelated to physical Server actions. Similarly, alien ‘iNtuition’ would uses Mercy images to construct grand scenarios that are unrelated to personal Perceiver power.

The main theme of the Law of One is a grand visual scenario, in which planets in our galaxy go through 25,000 year cycles. At the end of each cycle, a planet either stays at its current density and goes through another 25,000 year cycle or else it graduates to the next density. Currently, the earth is at the end of the third density and is poised to make a transition to the fourth density. It is difficult to conceive of a visual scenario which is much grander than this.

A human can use iNtuition to say anything he wants, because the words of iNtuition are separate from the actions of Sensing, and there is literally no built-in feedback for speech. Therefore, if a human wants to talk about fried pig wings fluttering through the cosmic pea soup, he can. And, what motivates the iNtuitive speech of humans? Teacher emotions of grandness and order within complexity. It feels good within Teacher thought to come up with a grand unified theory.

For a mirror-image alien, ‘iNtuition’ would involve Mercy images. Because aliens don’t live in the human physical universe, they could literally communicate any Mercy scenario that they wish. What would guide these Mercy scenarios? Mercy emotions of bigness, cosmic harmony, and interconnectedness. And that is what we find in the Law of One:

“I am Ra. The next step is still at this space/time nexus in your illusion achieving its progression as you may see it in your illusion. The next step is an infinite reaction to the creative principle following the Law of One in one of its primal distortions, freedom of will. Thus many, many dimensions, infinite in number, are possible. The energy moves from the intelligent infinity due first to the outpouring of randomized creative force, this then creating patterns which in holographic style appear as the entire creation no matter which direction or energy is explored. These patterns of energy begin then to regularize their own local, shall we say, rhythms and fields of energy, thus creating dimensions and universes.”

And, if you search all of the questions and answers from the Law of One, ‘infinite’ appears in 336 answers, while ‘infinity’ is used in 127 answers. That is a lot of bigness.

Numbers: Related to this grand vision is the matter of numbers. 25,000 years is a long time. Numbers have to do with Server thought, because they add precision and stability to a Teacher sequence. But we have just seen that Ra does not use Server confidence when dealing with grand schemes, but instead is being mentally warped by Teacher emotions. This strongly suggests that any large numbers in the Law of One are suspect. Ra himself says the same thing twice:

“Please continue to scan for errors having to do with numbering, as you call them, as this concept is foreign to us and we must translate, if you will, when using numbers. This is an on-going weakness of this contact due to the difference between our ways and yours. Your aid is appreciated.”

“The calculation necessary to move from one system to another through the dimensions are somewhat difficult. Therefore, we have the most difficulty sharing numerical concepts with you and take this opportunity to repeat our request that you monitor our numbers and query any that seem questionable.”

In addition, about ten times through these sessions, Ra makes a basic error regarding numbers and sequence, getting ‘3’ and ‘4’ confused, or ‘green ray’ and ‘yellow ray’ mixed up, and has to be corrected a few questions later by the human listener.

And what is the bottom line for Ra? The Law of One with its Infinite Mercy Unity:

“That which is infinite cannot be many, for many-ness is a finite concept. To have infinity you must identify or define that infinity as unity; otherwise, the term does not have any referent or meaning. In an Infinite Creator there is only unity. You have seen simple examples of unity. You have seen the prism which shows all colors stemming from the sunlight. This is a simplistic example of unity.

In truth there is no right or wrong. There is no polarity for all will be, as you would say, reconciled at some point in your dance through the mind/body/spirit complex which you amuse yourself by distorting in various ways at this time. This distortion is not in any case necessary. It is chosen by each of you as an alternative to understanding the complete unity of thought which binds all things. You are not speaking of similar or somewhat like entities or things. You are every thing, every being, every emotion, every event, every situation. You are unity. You are infinity. You are love/light, light/love. You are. This is the Law of One.”

I dwell on this for a simple reason. Many humans are basing their religion, their eternal cosmology, and their concept of God upon this Mercy exaggeration, because the Law of One supposedly comes from a super-intelligent alien member of the galactic federation. Maybe it does. But if aliens are mirror-image persons with the same minds as humans, then, like humans, they too are subject to personal flaws and delusions. It appears that the Law of One contains a lot of interesting and worthwhile information. However, I personally would want to go to a more reliable source for my cosmological timelines. Similarly, I would want to base my eternal personal salvation on someone who used ‘infinite’ and ‘infinity’ a few less times and who did not preface almost every specific statement with the qualifier that matter is ‘illusion’, sequence is ‘distortion’, and choice is ‘confusion’. I happen to live in that illusion and make confused choices in order to move through that distortion. I would get rather nervous if my personal well-being depended upon factors which were regarded as mere illusion, distortion, and confusion.

And, if one examines human religion, one finds a similar system of thought:

The Law of One: In the human mind, personal identity resides within Mercy thought and is composed of specific emotional experiences. Teacher emotion, in contrast, is produced by general Teacher theories: Teacher thought is produced by order within complexity, and it feels good when many elements combine to form an ordered structure. Using religious terms, the theory of mental symmetry suggests that an image of God forms when a general Teacher touches personal Mercy identity.

Let us look first at the human side. When the human mind combines iNtuition with Feeling, then this leads directly to a mental image of God, because human iNtuition focuses upon Teacher generality and human Feeling is driven by personal Mercy feelings. We see this with the INFJ and the INFP, both of which combine Feeling and iNtuition in a direction which points inward. But what type of image of God is formed when iNtuition and Feeling come together? One which lacks Perceiver facts, because Feeling suppresses Perceiver facts, and one which lacks Server sequences, because iNtuition avoids Server actions.

When the human mind focuses upon Mercy and Teacher emotions, then it is possible to bring ‘me’ together with my image of ‘God’ through the direct path of Buddhism. Buddhism programs Teacher strategy with the universal theory that ‘All is One’. Buddhism then equates this universal Teacher theory with ‘me’ in Mercy strategy by asserting that ‘I am God’.

Perceiver object recognition divides Mercy experiences into categories, concluding that ‘I’ am different than ‘you’ and that humans are not the same as chairs or trees. But Feeling suppresses Perceiver logic, making it possible to emotionally know that humans, chairs and trees are really all the same. In Buddhist language, Perceiver differences between individuals objects are all an illusion. Similarly, Server thought divides actions up into various steps, saying that one action is not the same as another. But iNtuition suppresses Server actions, making it possible to assert in Teacher thought that ‘all really is one’. How does the human mind stop Server thought from fragmenting the iNtuitive Teacher theory that ‘all is one’? By either sitting still in passive meditation or else by performing action spontaneously.

Ra in the Law of One emphasizes alien ‘Feeling’ and avoids alien ‘Thinking’. Ra also presents a grand visual scheme expressing alien ‘iNtuition’ and avoids alien ‘Sensing’. As a result, Ra is able to follow the alien version of Buddhism and assert that all Mercy experiences are one:

“I am Ra. The Law of One, though beyond the limitations of name, as you call vibratory sound complexes, may be approximated by stating that all things are one, that there is no polarity, no right or wrong, no disharmony, but only identity. All is one, and that one is love/light, light/love, the Infinite Creator.”

‘All is One’ can be stated either as a Teacher theory or as a Mercy unity. Humans would tend to describe it as a Teacher theory; it appears that Ra views it primarily as a Mercy construct.

In addition, Ra clearly states that This Universal Mercy Unity is equivalent to personal identity within Mercy thought. Repeating a previous quote:

“In truth there is no right or wrong.

Notice how Mercy Infinity of being ‘every event and every situation’ is equated with the personal alien Teacher emotion of ‘love/light’.

These two concepts are both described within a single quote:

“Exercise Two. The universe is one being. When a mind/body/spirit complex views another mind/body/spirit complex, see the Creator. This is an helpful exercise. Exercise Three. Gaze within a mirror. See the Creator.”

First, there is a unity of universal Mercy experience. Second, this Mercy universality is contained within ‘me’.

Distortion and Illusion: Buddhism stops Perceiver facts from fragmenting the Teacher theory of Oneness by asserting that all Perceiver facts are illusion. The Law of One uses a similar method to eliminate solid Server sequences through the concept of distortion. Thus, Ra views all specifics of the Universe as distortions of the Law of One—twists in the universal sequence which appear to exist but are not really there. The Law of One concept of distortion is the mirror-image of the Buddhist concept of illusion. Distortion applies to waves and sequences; in the previous quote the distortion is referred to as a dance—a Server action. Illusion, in contrast, refers to objects and matter.

The Buddhist mindset says that there is a universal Teacher theory and that all Perceiver facts which appear to divide this single theory into incompatible fragments are actually illusion. By symmetry:

“I am Ra. All serve the One Creator. There is nothing else to serve, for the Creator is all that there is. It is impossible not to serve the Creator. There are simply various distortions of this service.”

Thus, all Server actions are related to a Creator—a Unified Universal Mercy Source of Existence. It is impossible for Server actions to be unrelated to this Mercy unity for they are all merely distortions within the Mercy Unity.

Server thought can also fragment the mental unity of human Buddhism, for it separates Teacher theories into distinct steps—first you must do this, then you must do that. Server thought is easy to remove for the human, because Server strategy is the part of the mind that controls the physical body. Therefore, human Buddhism eliminates Server action either by sitting quietly when meditating, or else by performing action spontaneously in Zen-like fashion. If you want a more detailed explanation, you can find a chapter on Buddhism here. Ra eliminates the Perceiver facts that disturb alien ‘Buddhism’ by calling them illusion.

For those who are counting, the word ‘distortion’ is used in 362 of Ra’s answers, often more than once, with ‘illusion’ occurring 88 times. While ‘illusion’ is not used as frequently, it is used for the human physical body: “the illusion which is the physical body, as you would call it”, as well as the human universe: “your space/time continuum illusion.” Notice that not only does Ra call the human body and human universe illusion, but he also distances himself personally from this illusion.

Personal Salvation versus Divine Unity: Perceiver facts and Server sequences are connected by Contributor strategy, the part of the mind that chooses. Free will also fragments Divine Unity:

“Consider and remember the discussion of the Logos. With the primal distortion of free will, each galaxy developed its own Logos. This Logos has complete free will in determining the paths of intelligent energy which promote the lessons of each of the densities given the conditions of the planetary spheres and the sun bodies.”

So, how does Ra eliminate the fragmenting power of free will? By calling it confusion.

“I am Ra. There is a law which we believe to be one of the more significant primal distortions of the Law of One. That is the Law of Confusion. You have called this the Law of Free Will.” This term, ‘Law of Confusion’, appears 62 times in the questions and answers.

And yet, if you scan through the various answers, you find that Ra himself never violates the Law of Confusion, which means that, deep down, Ra really believes that the Law of Free Will cannot be violated. But if free will cannot be violated, then Divine Unity becomes fragmented, violating the Law of One.

Ra’s solution to this dilemma is to postulate the ultimate end of all finite creatures:

“The seventh density is a density of completion and the turning towards timelessness or foreverness.” “At the seventh level or dimension, we shall, if our humble efforts are sufficient, become one with all, thus having no memory, no identity, no past or future, but existing in the all.”

So, Ra is presenting humanity with a grand scheme of personal salvation which ends in personal annihilation. Hmmm. Personal salvation ≠ Personal annihilation.

This, I suggest, is the fundamental religious question: How does one reconcile finite and infinite without destroying either one or the other, or else ending up with some sort of fundamental contradiction. I suggest that the solution to this contradiction lies in the concept of a divine incarnation, some being who is both God and man, and who interconnects finite and infinite in a very specific manner.

Christianity does refer to Jesus as the God/man who does interconnect finite and infinite in a very specific manner. Unfortunately, as far as Ra is concerned, Jesus is just a fourth level wanderer who got angry at a playmate, fatally wounded him, experienced great remorse and is now studying wisdom at the fifth level. You can find a detailed rational analysis of incarnation and how it ties together finite and infinite here in my technical analysis of Christianity.

Summarizing so far: When the human mind combines Feeling with iNtuition, it comes up with a Buddhist type of religion in which All is One, I am God, objects are illusion, and actions are either eliminated or else spontaneous. When the alien mind combines ‘Feeling’ with ‘iNtuition’, it comes up with a Law of One type of religion in which All events are One, I in Teacher thought am Mercy Unity, all sequences are distortion and all objects are illusion.

But combining Feeling and iNtution through Buddhism, either the human or alien variety, ends up with a fundamental contradiction. If you attempt to equate finite with infinite, then ultimately one will destroy the other. Either finite will fragment infinite, or else infinite will swallow up finite.

Does this mean that everything within Buddhism is wrong? No. Buddhism does describe many useful and accurate concepts about personal identity, and Buddhism does seem to be able to ‘punch through’ spiritually to the alien side. Similarly, alien ‘Buddhism’, as described within the Law of One, does appear to describe many useful and accurate concepts about personal identity, and it apparently has managed to ‘punch through’ to the human side:

“I am Ra. I have not spoken through this instrument before. We had to wait until she was precisely tuned, as we send a narrow-band vibration. We greet you in the love and in the light of our Infinite Creator.”

In general, whenever Ra uses the adjective ‘illusion’ or ‘distortion’ with a certain answer, then I would tend to put more weight on the material, because it refers to technical details which alien ‘Buddhism’ is attempting to deny. However, when Ra refers to great universal cycles, then I would view what is being stated as an aspect of the exaggeration and the emotional ‘knowing’ that is required to support a ‘Law of One’.

Personal Morality: One final point on the overall approach. If one scans through the Law of One, one finds that it is devoid of personal morality. In fact, Ra goes out of his way to eliminate even indirect references to good and bad:

“I am Ra. We wish no quibbling but prefer to avoid the use of terms such as the verb, to allow. Free will does not allow, nor would predetermination disallow, experiential distortions. Rather the Law of Confusion offers a free reach for the energies of each mind/body/spirit complex. The verb, to allow, would be considered pejorative in that it suggests a polarity between right and wrong or allowed and not allowed. This may seem a minuscule point. However, to our best way of thinking it bears some weight.”

I have tried to think why an alien being would be so insistent about removing human concepts of morality, especially when human rules of morality would not apply to a mirror-image being. The best that I can come up with is a human analogy.

Suppose that some charismatic Christian preacher focuses upon worshipping God and seeing miracles: “You need to experience the unity of the Almighty; you need to feel the presence of the Lord; you need to break through to the spiritual realm.” And, suppose that this preacher really does manage to get through to the alien realm. Now, suppose that you come up to him and say, “You cannot approach God intuitively. You need to use technical vocabulary and logical reasoning. You can’t just use big words and emotional exaggeration. You must use rational thought to approach God.” How do you think that preacher is going to respond? He is going to reject your words as blasphemy against God.

We are dealing here with the precise mirror-image. When the charismatic preacher denied rational thought in order to worship his God, he was also denying the Server and Perceiver structure that is needed for intellectual Contributor thought—the structure within which mirror-image aliens reside.

Similarly, when Ra denies all human morality in order to worship his Creator, then he is denying the structure which humans require for their personal existence.

Speaking of morality, Ra may say that there is no universal moral law for mankind, but Ra definitely believes in a God of universal law, because he is using rational language to describe universal logical principles given by God that apply to both humans and aliens.

And when it comes to the transmission itself, Ra demands considerable precision. He doesn’t say, “Hey guys, everything is already being distorted. Don’t worry about the details. If you get within a few degrees, it is good enough.”

Instead Ra says: “I am Ra. We ask you to realign the object upon which the symbols sit. It is not a significant distortion for only one session, but you will find upon measuring the entire assemblage that the resting place is 1.4° from the correct alignment, the resting place an additional .5° away from proper orientation. Do not concern yourselves with this in the space/time nexus present, but do not allow these distortions to remain over a long period or the contact will be gradually impaired.”

If Ra really believed in distorted sequences, then he would send a distorted message, such as: I;lkasdf., asdbh ygfew ‘p;t sdyuf lkjyj asdfkh vswtih. Instead, Ra’s message declares several hundred times that the entire universe is a distortion and then Ra complains about minor distortions in the transmission of the message. That, I suggest, comes from an alien split between ‘Feeling’ and ‘Thinking’: the message belongs to alien ‘Feeling’; the transmission of the message is being guided by alien ‘Thinking’.

Space/Time versus Time/Space

Ra makes a number of interesting comments comparing the human realm of space/time with the alien world of time/space. Because space involves Perceiver thought and time is handled by Server strategy, we would expect these observations to be fairly accurate, and that they would not be affected by the overall ‘iNtuitive’/’Feeling’ mindset of alien ‘Buddhism’.

We know that in human space/time, a person resides within a physical body. Mental symmetry suggests that in alien time/space a person lives within a ‘body’ of energy:

“Consider the process of one who sees the spectrograph of some complex of elements. It is a complex paint sample, let us say for ease of description. We of Ra knew the needed elements for communication which had any chance of enduring. We compared our color chip to many individuals and groups over a long span of your time. Your spectrograph matches our sample.

“In response to your desire to see the relationship betwixt space/time and time/space, may we say that we conducted this search in time/space, for in this illusion one may quite readily see entities as vibratory complexes and groups as harmonics within vibratory complexes.”

Notice also, in passing, that Ra refers to time/space and space/time as ‘illusions’, consistent with a mindset of alien ‘Buddhism’. However, this does not detract from the logic of the statement being made.

In space/time, many objects can be seen at the same time; in time/space many sequences can be viewed simultaneously:

“In time/space, which is precisely as much of your self as is space/time, all times are simultaneous just as, in your geography, your cities and villages are all functioning, bustling, and alive with entities going about their business at once.”

The human mind can use spatial depth perception to distinguish one Perceiver object from another: Here is a desk, there is a chair, and so on. By symmetry, the alien mind can use temporal ‘depth perception’ to distinguish one Server sequence from another. The human mind can see at an entire Perceiver object and can also focus upon specific aspects of this object. For instance, I can see the whole building and I can also study the individual bricks that make up this building. By symmetry, the alien mind would be able to view an entire Server sequence of time as well as being able to study individual segments within that sequence:

“I am Ra. It is true that the nature of time/space is such that a lifetime may be seen whole as a book or record, the pages studied, riffled through, and re-read. However, the value of review is that of the testing as opposed to the studying. At the testing, when the test is true, the distillations of all study are made clear.”

In addition, a human can then look at the various objects which he sees spatially in front of him and choose between one of the objects: I see several boxes of cereal on the shelf. Today, I will choose to eat corn flakes. Similarly, the alien would view temporal sequences as a set of possible choices: I can choose this possible future path; I can choose that future sequence. Given a person’s personal tastes, it is possible to predict which cereal he will probably choose and which ones he will probably avoid. Similarly, given a human’s proclivities, one can predict which future path he will probably choose. Quoting from the Law of One:

“I am Ra. Consider the shopper entering the store to purchase food with which to furnish the table for the time period you call a week. Some stores have some items, others a variant set of offerings. We speak of these possibility/probability vortices when asked with the understanding that such are as a can, jar, or portion of goods in your store.

“It is unknown to us as we scan your time/space whether your peoples will shop hither or yon. We can only name some of the items available for the choosing. The, shall we say, record which the one you call Edgar read from is useful in that same manner. There is less knowledge in this material of other possibility/probability vortices and more attention paid to the strongest vortex. We see the same vortex but also see many others. Edgar’s material could be likened unto one hundred boxes of your cold cereal, another vortex likened unto three, or six, or fifty of another product which is eaten by your peoples for breakfast. That you will breakfast is close to certain. The menu is your own choosing.”

Notice how each specific situation is referred to as a ‘vortex’ and not an event. A vortex describes a locality in terms of energy and waves; an event refers to a specific incident in terms of objects and location.

With human space/time, we live in space and move through time. There are three spatial dimensions but only one temporal dimension. By symmetry, alien time/space would contain mainly temporal dimensions.

“The hallmark of time/space is the inequity between time and space. In your space/time the spatial orientation of material causes a tangible framework for illusion. In time/space the inequity is upon the shoulders of that property known to you as time.”

“Thus the time/space or metaphysical experience is that which is very finely tuned and, although an analog of space/time, lacking in its tangible characteristics. In these metaphysical planes there is a great deal of what you call time which is used to review and re-review the biases and learn/teachings of a prior, as you would call it, space/time incarnation.”

Saying this another way, in the physical realm, a human lives in a spatial world and experiences a temporal sequence. In the alien realm, a person can move back and forth through time to review these Mercy experiences for the purpose of building a Teacher understanding.

While in the physical universe of space/time, a person can choose to perform Server actions. However, Perceiver thought can only observe and classify. For the alien realm, the opposite is the case. Server actions do not appear to be possible within time/space. Instead there is only Server observation and Server classification:

“I am Ra. The process in space/time of the forgiveness and acceptance is much like that in time/space in that the qualities of the process are analogous. However, while in space/time it is not possible to determine the course of events beyond the incarnation but only to correct present imbalances. In time/space, upon the other hand, it is not possible to correct any unbalanced actions but rather to perceive the imbalances and thusly forgive the self for that which is.

The decisions then are made to set up the possibility/probabilities of correcting these imbalances in what you call future space/time experiences. The advantage of time/space is that of the fluidity of the grand overview. The advantage of space/time is that, working in darkness with a tiny candle, one may correct imbalances.”

In other words, a person can choose his Server actions in space/time, but he cannot see the general Teacher structure within which these Server actions occur. In contrast, while he can see the entire Teacher structure in time/space, he can only understand and classify; he cannot alter anything using Server action.

If aliens can move through time, then can aliens change the past or future of humans? Apparently not. First, when viewing from time/space, one can observe the past of space/time, but one cannot change it, because that would overturn free will. When talking about the personal past:

“The Higher Self does not manipulate its past selves. It protects when possible and guides when asked, but the force of free will is paramount.”

Similarly, when talking about the human future, Ra says: “There are differences, but they lie in the future of your time/space continuum and we cannot break the free will Law of Confusion.”

Saying this simply, when a person lives, he makes choices. Altering the past would undo these choices. Telling the future would make choices meaningless. Thus, personal choice places a limitation on the interference of time travel. In line with what I have read elsewhere, it may be that elements of the past may be changed if they are headed along an irrevocable path of destruction. Thus, one account described a UFO from the present sweeping in to a person from the past and abducting her because she was all alone in her farmhouse and about to die. Similarly, if an object from the past was about to be destroyed, then it could be pulled out from the stream of space/time and rescued.

Consistent with this, mental symmetry says that Contributor strategy is the part of the mind that chooses. But Contributor strategy also responsible for forming the essential connections that tie together Perceiver space and Server time.

Summarizing, the symmetry between human space/time and alien time/space reflects the symmetry between the left and right sides of the diagram of mental symmetry. Teacher and Mercy are flipped; Server and Perceiver are flipped. In space/time, a person interacts with his environment using practical Contributor thought; in time/space, a person uses intellectual Contributor thought to interact with his environment.

Service-to-Self and Service-to-Others

Ra divides human society into two basic streams, and says that each individual human chooses to pursue one of these two basic paths. Ra also states that human progress and growth depend upon people choosing either Server-to-Self or Service-to-Others and that it is the potential difference that emerges between these negative and positive ‘charges’ which drives society.

“Question: Then the concept of service to self and service to others is mandatory if we wish to have work, whether it be work in consciousness or work of a mechanical nature in the Newtonian concept in the physical. Is this correct? Answer: I am Ra. This is correct with one addendum.”

Let us look at these two paths in greater detail:

1) Service to Self. This is described as the negative path, or an inflow of energy. It is a path which attempts to dominate other humans. It is also described as male.

Service-to-Self attempts to exploit others and dominate them: “Those then upon the planetary sphere act much as do you to disseminate the attitudes and philosophy of their particular understanding of the Law of One which is service to self. These become the elite. Through these, the attempt begins to create a condition whereby the remainder of the planetary entities are enslaved by their free will.”

2) Service to Others. This is called a positive path, or an outflow of energy. It is also equated to female.

When asked for specific examples of Service to Others, Ra’s answer is somewhat vague:

“Speaking to the intention of your question, the best way for each seeker in third density to be of service to others is unique to that mind/body/spirit complex. This means that the mind/body/spirit complex must then seek within itself the intelligence of its own discernment as to the way it may best serve other-selves. This will be different for each. There is no best. There is no generalization. Nothing is known.”

Obviously, if all Server actions are simply distortions of each other, then it is not possible to define specific Server actions precisely without denying the Law of One. And, that is why Service-to-Others is defined as an expression of the Law of One:

“The best way of service to others is the constant attempt to seek to share the love of the Creator as it is known to the inner self. This involves self knowledge and the ability to open the self to the other-self without hesitation. This involves, shall we say, radiating that which is the essence or the heart of the mind/body/spirit complex.”

In other words, let the Teacher energy flow out.

Respecting the environment is mentioned as a specific example, since it recognizes the Mercy Oneness of the human realm, as is respecting other human beings, which is consistent with the concept that each individual contains the Infinite within himself. Thus,

“the distortions to be avoided are those which do not take into consideration the distortions of the focus of energy of love/light, or shall we say, the Logos of this particular sphere or density. These include the lack of understanding of the needs of the natural environment, the needs of other-selves’ mind/body/spirit complexes.”

Now that we have looked at these two divisions, let us see if we can use mental symmetry to discover the logic for them. Beginning with a quote:

“I am Ra. It is unlikely that there is a more pithy or eloquent description of the polarities of third density than service-to-others and service-to-self due to the nature of the mind/body/spirit complexes’ distortions towards perceiving concepts relating to philosophy in terms of ethics or activity.”

‘Third density’ refers to the current human planet and its emphasis upon physical existence. What is the source of this division? The way in which the typical human perceives concepts of ethics and activity.

I agree. Let me explain. It appears that Ra is using Service-to-Self and Service-to-Others to describe from an alien perspective a system of human morality that is based in MBTI® Feeling. Saying this more clearly, when religion is based in Holy Books and blind faith, then you have two types of idolatry, Mercy idolatry and Teacher idolatry—both based in Feeling. Thinking, in contrast, does not lead to morality, because it avoids personal emotions.

On the one hand, there is Mercy idolatry, the source of childish identity. Emotional Mercy experiences program the childish mind, leading to a childish ‘me’ based in Mercy idolatry: The Mercy experiences that I love and hate define my identity. If some Mercy idol makes ‘me’ feel good, then the emotions will fool Perceiver thought into believing that it belongs to ‘me’. If some experience which is a part of ‘me’ makes ‘me’ feel bad, then the painful emotions will overwhelm Perceiver thought into knowing that this experience does not belong to ‘me’. Thus, Mercy idolatry leads to a combination of worship and denial. It is fairly obvious to conclude that such Service-to-Self is negative.

On the other hand, there is Teacher idolatry, the source of revealed truth, blind faith, morality, and conscience. Why do I know that my Holy Book describes universal truth? Because my great emotional reverence for this book has mesmerized Perceiver thought into an attitude of blind faith. But blind faith is always accompanied by self-denial. Perceiver thought in my mind will only remain mesmerized by an emotional source if that source is far more important emotional that I am. If I ever think that I am a somebody, then I will begin to doubt the truth of the Holy Book.

Does morality have a positive effect on childish behavior? Yes. Therefore, it is a positive path. But the morality of a Holy Book always lead to an attitude of personal self-denial, therefore the positive path can be equated to one of Service-to-Others.

Saying this once more, if human society is governed by the human split between Thinking and Feeling, then Feeling will be divided on the one hand into Mercy idolatry, which programs childish identity and focuses in a negative manner upon Service-to-Self, and on the other hand into Teacher idolatry, which programs conscience and emphasizes Service-to-Others in a positive manner.

But why would an alien being describe this in terms of Service-to-Self and Service-to-others. Because a mirror-image being lives in a world of Server sequences, and thus views everything in terms of Server sequences.

But if humans ever managed to integrate Thinking and Feeling, then one would get an entirely new way of building human morality, along with a totally different view of positive and negative human behavior. What happens then is that Perceiver logic and Mercy feelings combine to generate a cognitive map of value: “I want to experience value. I want to be valuable. I try to avoid junk. I don’t want to get involved with junk.” When this happens, then childish Mercy identity is replaced by adult Mercy identity and the result is enlightened selfishness. In Biblical language, I love my neighbor as myself. With idolatry, I love either my neighbor or myself. Combining Perceiver facts with Mercy emotions permits me to come up with solid Perceiver rules which apply equally to both my emotional Mercy experiences and the emotional Mercy experiences of others.

When Thinking and Feeling rule, then personal and societal growth do depend upon a balance between Teacher and Mercy idolatry—between positive and negative mental ‘charges’. Humanity needs the morality and higher standards imposed by Teacher idolatry to pull it toward a higher standard of life and behavior. But if people focus fully upon Teacher idolatry, then they turn into monks that deny themselves completely in order to worship and serve God. Therefore, human growth also needs individuals who turn their back on the Teacher idolatry of morality and decide to focus upon the enjoyment of self—turning possibility into reality.

Notice that this applies to society as a group. You need those who deny self for a higher cause, and you need those who focus upon self and enjoying reality. If an individual wants to grow, then he will alternate between Teacher and Mercy idolatry—denying himself for a time, and then enjoying himself for a time. This describes the typical workweek and weekend. The solution, of course, is to combine Thinking and Feeling.

The description of male and female is rather interesting:

“I am Ra. When the veiling process was accomplished, to the male polarity was attracted the Matrix of the Mind and to the female, the Potentiator of the Mind, to the male the Potentiator of the Body, to the female the Matrix of the Body.”

I would interpret ‘matrix’ as content and ‘potentiator’ as drive. Physically speaking, the male body has the sex drive and the female body transforms this drive into the physical structure of a baby. Fairly obvious.

Mentally speaking, though, the opposite is the case. Mental symmetry suggests that the male mind emphasizes Perceiver, Contributor, and Server thought, the modes which build mental structure. The female mind, in contrast, emphasizes Teacher, Exhorter, and Mercy strategy, the modes responsible for emotional drive.

This also explains why Ra would refer to male as positive and female as negative. The male mind focuses upon Perceiver truth, which is being programmed by Teacher idolatry. The female mind, in contrast emphasizes Mercy thought, the seat of personal identity and the core of Mercy idolatry.

However, when Thinking and Feeling are combined in the enlightened selfishness of adult identity, then one does not have to regard male as positive and female as negative. Instead, one realizes that male and female each emphasize different mental modes and that mental wholeness requires both male and female thought.

Veiling or Living in a Physical Body

Suppose that a dog does attack me and leave me mentally scarred. Or suppose that a major terrorist attack sears the Mercy feelings of a nation. The details of that specific event will be remembered accurately. In fact, they will probably be recalled in great detail. But the mental error lies in extrapolating from this single event to universality. One dog biting me does not mean necessarily that all dogs bite. Similarly, if one major attack becomes associated with a group of Muslim terrorists, this does not mean that all Muslims are terrorists continually bent on plotting attacks. That is the error of Feeling. If extrapolates from specific to universal.

Looking at the alien analog to Mercy Feeling, that of Teacher ‘Feeling’, the Law of One seems to make several insightful comments regarding the mental and spiritual implications of living in a human body. But it also seems to suffer from the error of ‘Feeling’ in that it extrapolates from this specific situation to a universal view of personal existence. Would the emotions of entering and leaving a physical body be personally traumatic to an energy based being? Quite. Does this emotional trauma justify using this specific personal Sequence to define all physical existence? No.

Saying this more specifically, the idea of incarnation makes sense; a disembodied spirit can live within a physical body for a time, and there are major implications to such a decision. It even appears that alien beings from time/space can occupy and leave physical containers at will. And, human beings also live within physical bodies for only a time before becoming disembodied spirits after their physical bodies die.

But to jump from there to the general conclusion that all human existence is an eternal sequence of endless personal reincarnation appears to be a mental jump of alien ‘Feeling’, because it extrapolates from a single personal traumatic episode to a universal sequence affecting everything and everyone. Saying this in Christian language, the Bible clearly teaches about the centrality of the doctrine of incarnation. And, it indicates that spirits can occupy human bodies. But the Bible does not extrapolate from incarnation to eternal reincarnation.

Finally, using the language of mental symmetry, the Law of One uses alien ‘Feeling’ to turn personal incarnation into endless Server cycles of reincarnation while belittling the Contributor Incarnation. Christianity, in contrast, views Jesus as the Contributor Incarnation who connects finite with infinite by bridging intellectual Contributor thought and practical Contributor thought, thus bringing value and meaning to the specific incarnations of humans and aliens.

Having said this, let us look at the details, keeping in mind that the principles may be sound but not the extrapolation into eternal sequence.

Learning requires Faith: “I am Ra. Consider, if you will, the tendency of those who are divinely happy, as you call this distortion, to have little urge to alter or better their condition. Such is the result of the mind/body/spirit which is not complex. There is the possibility of love of other-selves and service to other-selves, but there is the overwhelming awareness of the Creator in the self. The connection with the Creator is that of the umbilical cord. The security is total. Therefore, no love is terribly important; no pain terribly frightening; no effort, therefore, is made to serve for love or to benefit from fear.”

Thus, living in a physical body forces a person to learn and develop because it makes problems real. If a person knew that God was always there to ‘bail him out’, then there would be no need to learn anything, just as the rich child can use his wealth to avoid personal development.

Growth requires Selfishness: “Then prior to the forgetting process there was no concept of anything but service-to-others polarization. What sort of societies and experiences in third-density were created and evolved in this condition?” “I am Ra. It is our perception that such conditions created the situation of a most pallid experiential nexus in which lessons were garnered with the relative speed of the turtle to the cheetah.”

In other words, suppose that some powerful being came to earth and told everyone what to believe. Or, suppose that people on earth were aware of powerful beings from other realms. The emotional status of these demi-gods would overwhelm personal identity. The average person would then worship these beings, follow Teacher idolatry and pursue a path of religious self-denial.

But human personal growth is driven by practical Contributor thought, which requires placing ‘me’ within a map of value, and then moving through this map in order to improve ‘me’. Teacher idolatry builds the map, but it suppresses ‘me’. If you want progress, then you need a mental map, you must place ‘me’ within that map and then you must decide to improve ‘me’.  You need experts and Teacher idolatry to program the mental map. But you also need personal desire and Mercy idolatry in order to move through this map.

Growth requires Free Will: “I am Ra. Those, what you would call, early Logoi which chose lack of free will foundations, to all extents with no exceptions, founded Logoi of the service-to-others path. The, shall we say, saga of polarity, its consequences and limits, were unimagined until experienced.”

Teacher idolatry uses emotional pressure to create an attitude of self-denial. But self also presumes the existence of a free will. If I cannot choose to follow my own path, then I cannot form a personal identity. Saying this in the language of mental symmetry, practical Contributor uses Contributor choice in order to improve ‘me’. This circuit will only function if both ‘me’ and choice exist.

Of course, we are looking here at a mindset ruled by emotional pressure and idolatry. I suggest that a better way is possible. However, the basic principle still remains.

Growth requires Individuality: This is something which Ra implies but does not state directly. Humans cannot practice telepathy. Instead, each individual is locked within his own private mind and cannot directly contact the minds of others. In contrast, aliens do seem to be able to communicate telepathically with each other. If you could communicate directly with other people, then it would be easy to form a group consciousness, and Ra often refers to himself as a group, and describes the human mind as being ‘veiled’.

Thus, personal identity is associated with limited awareness. In order to distinguish between me and another person, some wall must exist which separates me from that other person.

Summarizing, both personal growth and societal development require individuals acting within an universal framework. Building a universal framework is simple. All you need is universal awareness. If you see everything, then you will instantly know everything. However, if a person is to function as an individual within this universal framework, then his awareness must be limited. First, he must become locked within personal needs and desires, only partially aware of a caring Universal God. Because, if he knew that God would stoop down and instantly solve every problem and satisfy every need, then he would never grow. Second, he must have a free will and be able to acquire sufficient emotional status to do his own thing. If powerful beings were continually breathing down his neck, then he would be too scared to do anything on his own. Third, he must have limited awareness of other humans. If all personal thoughts could be shared with others, then there would be no individuality.

However, suppose that one defined individuality internally, and suppose that one built the mental confidence that was needed to handle external pressure without falling apart inside. Then, the human veil could be at least partially lifted and individuality would not be lost. How does one build stable internal personal identity? That is one of the primary topics of the theory of mental symmetry. It is also the main theme of Christianity.

Saying this more generally, Ra tells us that if you want people or groups to develop, then you must violate the Law of One.

The Harvest: Ra states that at the end of each density, there is a harvest in which souls are graded to see if they are worthy for the next density. It is interesting to note that Ra defines this harvest as measuring how much external pressure a soul can handle without falling apart inside:

“Thus, the illusion is created of light, or more properly but less understandably, light/love. This is in varying degrees of intensity. The spirit complex of each harvested entity moves along the line of light until the light grows too glaring, at which time the entity stops. This entity may have barely reached third density or may be very, very close to the ending of the third-density light/love distortion vibratory complex. Nevertheless, those who fall within this octave of intensifying light/love then experience a major cycle during which the opportunities are many for the discovery of the distortions which are inherent in each entity and, therefore, the lessening of these distortions.”

As with most things mentioned by Ra, the specific description makes a lot of sense, and is in line with the view of judgment after death as postulated by the theory of mental symmetry, and as described in the Bible. The basic premise is simple. How much light can a person handle? Will he turn toward the light or away from the light? The difficulty with the Law of One lies in its taking this single sequence and assuming that it is repeated endlessly through all time—an extrapolation which corresponds to alien ‘Feeling’.

According to Ra, some sixty million current humans are actually aliens from other planets who have chosen to live out their present incarnation as humans upon planet earth. Ra also says that most of these wanderers do not know that they are aliens because they forgot about their past when they entered a human body.

So, how can a person know if he is a wanderer? He can’t, because he lost all knowledge of his past lives when he was born as a human. Instead, he has to take Ra’s word for it.

But Ra is an alien. Aliens cannot see Perceiver objects. Instead, they see Server sequences. Humans use Perceiver thought to perform object recognition. Therefore, when I see the physical body of Suzie at the store and then see the same physical body at the post office, I assume that these two Perceiver objects describe the same person. Aliens, in contrast, can look across time to compare one Server sequence with another. So, they will look at the Server life sequence of Suzie, notice that it is similar to the life sequence of Sally living one hundred years earlier, and conclude that it is the same person. The fact that Sally and Suzie do not look the same does not enter into the equation because aliens are rotten at Perceiver object recognition.

Add to this the ‘Buddhist’ alien mindset that takes a single Server sequence and uses it to define all related Server sequences, and the alien tendency to think in terms of in reincarnation turns into a strong belief. Plus, aliens themselves do seem to be able to inhabit physical containers for a while. For them, some form of reincarnation may be the norm. For an mirror-image alien, moving to a new physical body would be like changing a profession for a human: traumatic but not fatal.

Now suppose that this alien gets in contact with Suzie and tells Suzie that she is a reincarnation of Sally. Suzie will ‘know’ that this information is correct, because it came from an alien and aliens are special people with great emotional status who know everything. That is because Suzie is using Feeling, and Feeling says that all truth comes from important people.

Besides, Suzie is now becoming aware of knowledge and wisdom that extends far beyond her present mortal existence, and she can even recall some events from past lives. Isn’t that proof enough of reincarnation?

Not necessarily. First, what she may really be sensing is the personality of the alien with whom she is communicating. And that alien does have wisdom which was acquired through a long period of personal existence. Second, how does a mirror-image alien communicate? Through Mercy images. Thus, instead of remembering her own past lives, maybe Suzie is just receiving visual images from her friendly—or not-so-friendly—alien friend.

So, what is the correct interpretation, reincarnation or a combination of guardian angels and demon possession? In addition, if the doorway between here and there is beginning to open, then this could either mean that more wanderers are reincarnating on earth in order to help humans make the transition, or that more people are either beginning to notice their guardian angels or else be influenced by aliens and/or demons.

The First Three Densities

According to Ra, experience is divided into seven different levels of awareness. Both individual persons and planets progress through these seven different stages. Ra states that the earth is currently in the process of making a transition from the third to the fourth density. Third density life, which describes our current world, is purely physical. Fourth density existence, in contrast, includes a supernatural component as well.

According to Ra, a planet has a chance to graduate every 25,000 years. As I have suggested earlier, one concludes from the mental bias of Ra that his large numbers are suspect. And, does it really take 25,000 years for a planet to move from love to wisdom? Therefore, I will view these various densities as steps in a process of development and ignore the numbers.

Here is a quote describing the first three densities, which we will look at briefly before spending some time on the transition from third to fourth density:

“There are seven densities of experience.

“First density is the density of awareness, in which the planet moves out of the timeless state into physical manifestation. Its inhabitants are earth, wind, water, and fire.

“Second density is the density of growth, in which what we call biological life emerges and evolves into greater and greater complexity.

“Third density is the density of choice, in which certain of the biological entities are invested with spirits and choose which way they will further their evolution toward the Creator.

Mental symmetry says that the mind is divided into the four simple styles of Perceiver, Server, Teacher, and Mercy, along with the three composite styles of Exhorter, Contributor, and Facilitator. The first four modes deal with mental content, the last three operate the mind. Obviously, the first step in developing the mind is to gain some content. At this point, the mind is not yet self-aware. Instead, it is acquiring its initial content.

Thus, the four basic elements may correspond to the four simple styles. Mercy strategy deals with raw experiences. Water is a fluid—a form of disconnected matter. Perceiver strategy builds solid connections between Mercy experiences. Earth represents solid matter. As for fire and wind, I would tend to associate fire with Teacher thought and wind with Server strategy. Teacher thought is emotional; these feelings are needed to drive the intellectual circuit. Server strategy deals with movement and sequence, which is expressed by wind.

Second density corresponds to the emergence of personal awareness. In the human infant, emotional experiences from the physical body program Mercy strategy, leading to the formation of childish identity. Childish identity is based in Mercy idolatry—emotionally fixating upon objects in the external world and building my mind around these external objects, rituals, and experiences. Second density existence is tribal; people with similar Mercy idols band together. Tribal thinking leads to tribal territories and tribal warfare; people who worship different Mercy idols will be seen as enemies that need to be fought; each group has its own turf which it defends from opposing groups. Animals are mentally locked into this type of mindset. Human society can also become stuck at the tribal level.

Second density thinking instinctively clings to that which resembles the childish ‘me’ and automatically opposes that which differs from the childish ‘me’. This produces ‘us versus them’ thinking, with ‘us’ being good and ‘them’ being ‘evil’. For instance, if we look at current American politics, a significant number of voters filter every issue through the two groups of Republican and Democrat. Thus, Republican = ‘us’ = good; Democrat = ‘them’ = evil. Or, the other way around. No thought is involved in this processing. Instead, it is a gut level emotional reaction.

The point is that Second density thought is not something which vanished 25,000 years ago. Instead, every infant passes through this stage, many societies still function at this level, and it guides many minds even in ‘highly developed’ societies.

Third density describes the mindset of the majority of present society. I suggest that it results from a combination of Mercy idolatry and Teacher idolatry. The Mercy idolatry of second density thought is still present, with its childish identity. But now there is the additional factor of law, revealed truth and holy books. Mercy idolatry uses emotional status to lift up idols, objects, rituals, people, and experiences. Teacher idolatry uses this same emotional status to exalt words, messages, and instructions. No longer does the tribal leader make up his decisions on the spot. Instead, the leaders codify a set of laws, and these laws guide behavior. Similarly, religion goes beyond a mystical spiritual experience to verbal, doctrinal, and moral content that is written down by the experts so that it becomes solid and does not change. Likewise education moves past apprenticeship to some expert to studying knowledge written down in a textbook.

This combination of Mercy and Teacher idolatry leads to the emergence of goal-oriented behavior, by causing practical Contributor thought to emerge. That is because Teacher idolatry provides several functions: It tells ‘me’ where I am. Among other things, this leads to private property: “It is written down that this piece of land belongs to Joe Schmoe. Let no one change the law.” It also tells ‘me’ where I could be: “That piece of land belongs to Hairy Jerry. It is worth 80,000 simoleons. if you have the dough, you can buy it from Schmoe.” And, it restricts how I can get from here to there: “You may buy land from your neighbor. You may not eat your neighbor’s grapes. You may not move the landmark dividing your land from your neighbor’s land. You may not take land from your neighbor by force.”

Saying this another say, Teacher idolatry leads to mental stability which places ‘me’ within a solid mental map, making it possible for me to choose where I will go within this map.

But both Mercy and Teacher idolatry are based in the same mental foundation of idolatry. As I mentioned earlier, this leads to the division between Service-to-Self and Service-to-Others. Idolatry programs Perceiver truth by using Mercy emotions to mesmerize Perceiver thought. If I attach great emotional importance to holy books, civil authorities, religious priests, and college professors, then Perceiver thought will ‘know’ that the truth of Teacher idolatry is solid. However, if I follow Mercy idolatry and focus upon making the childish ‘me’ feel good, then the emotional importance of ‘me’ will rise, and eventually I will begin to doubt the ‘truth’ of my experts: “Who does he think that he is to tell me what is right or wrong. He is no better than I am. My opinion also counts.”

This leads to the major choice of the positive and negative path. Service-to-Others is positive because it takes attention away from childish identity and focuses upon the words, laws and standards of Teacher idolatry. Service-to-Self, in contrast, is negative because gratifies the Mercy idolatry of childish identity, which eats away at my respect for laws, truth, and morality.

Notice that we are completely ignoring the whole realm of science and technology. Instead, we are examining what rules the subjective when the mind is split into Thinking versus Feeling. Science and technology deal with Thinking. Mercy idolatry and Teacher idolatry both fall within Feeling. I suggest that it is possible to integrate Thinking and Feeling, and that Teacher idolatry is a transitional form of thought that starts with Feeling but leads beyond it. However, it is rather difficult to move past Feeling and experience the benefits of scientific thought when the Law of One insists that all experiences are One, that objects are illusion, that sequences are distortions, and that personal choice is confusion.

Finally, once a person acquires solid internal content then it makes sense to refer to a human as being more than just body and instinct. Instead, as Ra states, one can talk about mind/spirit/body.

Now that we have a overall sense of third density thought, let us look at the transition from the third to the fourth density. Our analysis will include Mercy idolatry and Teacher idolatry but will also examine the effect which science and technology has upon the human mind—something which Ra dismisses as peripheral and insignificant.

According to the Law of One, the earth is on the cusp of making a transition from the third to the fourth density. Supposedly, many of the children growing up today already belong to the fourth density, and they are referred to by others as ‘indigo children’.

The Indigo Child

Since 2012, the supposed year of transition, is almost here, and since the ‘indigo child’ plays such a major role in this transition, I would like to analyze the description of the ‘indigo child’ in the light of mental symmetry.

Here is a fairly complete list of traits which I pulled off a random website

1. Does your child expect to be treated as an equal instead of a child?
2. Is your child easily, emotionally triggered?
3. Does your child have difficulty with discipline and authority?
4. Is your child frustrated with ritual-oriented systems that require little creativity?
5. Does your child have a gentle, sensitive, spirit and caring heart?
6. Does your child have food or environmental sensitivities?
7. Does your child dislike being rushed or not seem to have a sense of time in a traditional way?
8. Does your child have an interest in spiritual things?
9. Does your child appear to be an old soul or wise beyond their years?
10. Does your child seem to have a very creative imagination or to be a daydreamer?
11. Did your child come into the world with an attitude?
12. Does your child refuse to do certain things they are told to do?
13. Is your child a non-conformist?
14. Does your child see better ways of doing things at home and at school?
15. Is homework a source of conflict in your home?
16. Does your child appear to have a short attention span and at other times incredible focus?
17. Is your child particularly creative in areas of art, music, science and/or technology?
18. Does your child display intuition or knowledge of things that are unexplainable?
19. Did your child display an early ability and desire to learn and appear to be very intelligent in some areas?
20. Does your child talk to or about “imaginary” friends or see things that you cannot?
21. Does your child refuse to respond to parenting techniques that were used on you as a child?
22. Does your child have a strong interest in the environment and other living creatures?
23. Does your child have trouble getting to sleep or have night terrors?

Let us analyze these traits:

1) The indigo child does not respond to guilt-based discipline and has problems submitting to absolute authority.  Normally, the emotional importance of parents and other authority figures mesmerizes Perceiver thought in the child into knowing what is true. This is the source of societal approval and traditional morality. This is how the mind of the child normally develops: Daddy is my hero. Daddy is big and knows everything. Daddy is always right.

However, several major factors in today’s world have changed this traditional programming route: First, technology is changing so fast that adults, traditionally the experts, often feel lost and uncertain and have to turn to their children for help. Second, the pervasive entertainment of television, and now the Internet has belittled the emotional status of traditional experts, traditional cultures, and traditional religions.

2) The indigo child has an attitude of entitlement. He acts like he deserves to be here, and he has no problems with self-worth. This is the flip-side of the previous point. When adults feel uncertain, then children will feel as if they are the important people with emotional status. This attitude of self-entitlement is backed up by current Western entertainment, which consistently broadcasts the message that everyone is special and loved. In addition, many, if not most, Western Christian churches, traditionally the source of Western morality, now teach a gospel of unconditional acceptance: “God loves you unconditionally no matter what you do or say.”

3) The indigo child is easily triggered emotionally. He has a sensitive spirit and caring heart. This indicates someone who is driven strongly by Mercy emotions.

4) The indigo child is frustrated with ritual, dislikes being rushed, hates to be told what to do, and is not aware of time in a traditional sense. Here we have the Server side to childish identity: “I will do things my own way. Don’t tell me what to do.”

2012 and the Shift from Third to Fourth Density

So far, the indigo child sounds like your typical childish brat, and that is how they are often diagnosed. However, there appears to be an additional crossover effect at work here, which brings us back to the concept of earth graduating from the third to the fourth density. Let me introduce this by describing the crossover effect which gave birth to modern science during the Renaissance.

First, there was the mindset of medieval Scholasticism, in which scholars debated ancient religious and Greek texts. They used logic. But they applied their logic to the realm of dusty tomes written by long dead authors. Second, there was the attitude of personal freedom, largely triggered by the extensive corruption and hypocrisy of the Catholic Church. People started to reject the morality of the church and its emphasis on life after death and decided to enjoy themselves in the present world.

It was the combination of these two factors which made the birth of scientific thought mentally possible. Scholasticism with its Teacher idolatry taught scholars that the world was governed by a universal God of truth, logic, and order, but the religious mindset caused thinkers to turn their backs on themselves and focus upon God and the church. Thus, people knew how to think, but they applied this thinking to the wrong topic for discovering natural science. Personal freedom, on the other hand, with its Mercy idolatry, encouraged people to forget about the God and the next world and to focus upon personal enjoyment and the present life. The combination of fading Teacher idolatry combined with growing Mercy idolatry created a windows of opportunity during which people focused upon the natural world but still remembered how to think rationally and logically.

I suggest that this describes a general principle. A similar window of opportunity arises whenever solid tradition gives way to personal freedom. One saw this, for instance, in the aftermath of the Great Depression of the 1930s. The depression taught frugality. The next generation enjoyed the benefits of this frugal mindset. Such a window of opportunity never lasts. Instead, one can compare it to the ‘charge’ on a mental ‘battery’. Teacher idolatry and self-denial charge the battery; Mercy idolatry and self-indulgence drain the battery.

Is this the only way to make progress as an individual or as a society? Of course not. But when the mind is programmed by idolatry, then it might well be the only way. And, it also corresponds to the Service-to-Self and Service-to-Others described by the Law of One, which also compares the tension between these two mindsets to an electric charge.

During the birth of science, this mental opportunity was combined with two other effects: On the one hand, the existing societal structure had been severely shaken by the combination of the Black Death and the Hundred Years War. On the other hand, a New World was literally being explored.

The end result was the discovery of natural science—a human oriented universal Teacher theory describing the natural world.

A similar process is occurring today, except on a global scale. However, today’s process is the mirror-image of what happened during the Renaissance. First, as demonstrated by ‘indigo children’ in specific and the younger generation in general, traditional authority structures have collapsed. ‘Because I said so’ used to be a good enough reason. It no longer is. Second, also as shown by ‘indigo children’, there is a sense of personal entitlement combined with an overall attitude: “I am special. I deserve to be here.” Thus, Teacher idolatry is fading and being replaced by Mercy idolatry.

This combination provides a finite window of opportunity for something to happen. What happens during such a window of opportunity? There is a huge explosion of personal creativity as all of the ‘stored charge’ of Teacher idolatry becomes released to drive the Mercy idolatry of personal pleasure—another characteristic of the ‘indigo children’: “Forget the rules. I’m not going to listen any more. I’m going to let go and have some fun!”

But that is not the whole story. Instead, a mind switching external shift has also occurred as a result of modern technology. I suggest that technology leads to a flipping of modes from human thought to an alien mindset. Because I describe this concept in fair detail elsewhere, I will summarize briefly here. In essence, human life requires a combination of Mercy specifics and Teacher universality. Humans want to protect and pamper the finite Mercy-based physical bodies in which we live, and we want to live in an environment that is governed by universal Teacher laws of natural cause and effect.

Technology turns this human mindset into the alien mirror-image combination of specific Teacher combined with universal Mercy. On the Teacher side, specialization forces each individual to limit his activities to a specific set of Server actions and his Teacher understanding to a limited subset of specialized knowledge. In addition, living within civilization shields a person from encountering the natural world and its universal laws of cause and effect. Today’s average person has no idea of how most items are produced. Instead, if he wants bread, he goes to a baker; if he wants his car fixed, he sees a mechanic. Thus, instead of learning about laws of universal Teacher order, he learns about specific Teacher names.

On the Mercy side, technology has turned our physical world into an interconnected global village. Each community used to live in its own tiny, isolated world. No longer. Now, when there is an earthquake on the other side of the world we hear about it in minutes. Plus, global communications allow us to videoconference with anyone in the world, no matter where they are located. And, with all of the records that are on file about us and how we act, combined with the abundance of surveillance technology, personal privacy and Mercy individuality are a thing of the past. Not only is there a global village, but it is almost impossible to hide from this global society.

Add to this the Internet, an entire alien-like world. I suggest elsewhere that the mind contains two main circuits: practical Contributor thought, which interacts with the human world by using Server actions to change Mercy experiences; and intellectual Contributor thought, which interacts with the alien world by using Perceiver power to control Teacher energy. Locations in the human world are connected spatially; ‘locations’ in the alien world are connected semantically. The Internet is an expression of pure alien-like thought. Its basic building material is information—clumps of Teacher words. This information is connected through Perceiver hyperlinks. Spatial distance means nothing to the Internet. Instead, all information is connected semantically, and the link which a person clicks may access a computer across the hallway or across the continent. And, how many hours a day does the average person spend on the Internet?

So, what is the difference between human and alien? I suggested at the beginning of this analysis that internally we are all the same. What makes us different is our bodies and our environment. However, we have just seen that technology has taken the human natural world and replaced it with a largely alien external environment. Think of the child growing up in such an environment. All he knows is this alienness—for him it describes ‘natural’ reality. He thinks that it is normal to be able to text his friends a hundred times a day. He does not know a world without the Internet.

Now let us add real aliens to the equation. Suppose that there really are aliens out there? What stops them from invading earth? The answer to this appears to lie with quantum mechanics. Particles and waves are equivalent. Every particle can be treated as a wave, and every wave as a particle. Space/time treats the universe as a collection of particles; time/space approaches it as a superposition of waves. When an atomic particle, such as an electron, is in a wave-like state, what causes it to appear as a particle? Observation. In some way, when the wave/particle is observed, its wave function collapses and it appears as a particle. Thus, it has been suggested that UFOs will remain wave-like as long as enough people in the population refuse to observe them. Saying this in plain English, as long as enough people do not believe in UFOs, they will not appear to the general population.

I should point out that this is also a Christian concept. The gospels describe how Jesus was unable to do many miracles in certain towns because of ‘their lack of faith’. Saying this in the language of mental symmetry, belief involves Perceiver thought. And, a mirror-image alien would ‘move’ through the application of Perceiver power. Perceiver thought can either know that something exists, or else it can know that something does not exist. If enough humans know that aliens do not exist, then this Perceiver power counteracts the Perceiver power of the aliens.

But this human un-knowing of aliens is crumbling. First of all, since the development of the atomic bomb, we all know that the world could be destroyed in a few minutes. Having lived through the latter stages of the Cold War, I remember this feeling of personal uncertainty. If you want a surreal reminder, see the Civil Defence video ‘Duck and Cover’. Secondly, civilization is starting to have a global impact on the environment. We literally do not know how long we can continue our present way of life.

Now let us put these major factors together: First, the old traditional experts have crumbled. Second, the current generation is looking for something new and exciting. Third, our external environment has turned semi-alien. Fourth, the wall between human and alien seems to be cracking. Thus, it is quite possible that the ‘indigo children’ are experiencing some alien interaction at childhood, accounting for their unusual psychic behavior. And, it is also possible that alien minds are influencing their thoughts, leading to the bursts of unusual adult wisdom. And, when a person has ‘night terrors’, it is quite possible that he is experiencing alien visitations of an unfriendly nature at night—when the human connection to physical reality is the weakest.

And if the supernatural genie ever gets out of the bottle, then there will be a global shift into a new level of awareness. But what type of global shift will occur? It depends. If the message of Ra and the Law of One were to break through, then we would have iNtuition combined with Feeling. In MBTI® language, the INFP would rule the roost. Translating this into the language of mental symmetry, there would be Teacher emotions without Server content, combined with Mercy feelings without Perceiver facts. The INFP may be great at making contact with Law of One type aliens, he may be great at calling on people to save the global environment, but he is lousy at handling the drudgery of daily living.

That would explain why the Law of One refers to the fourth density as a density of love. Love is emotional. The global shift which the Law of One is promoting is driven by pure emotions: In Mercy thought it feels that there is ultimate Unity, and in Teacher thought it equates love and light with the Creator. Everything else is sidelined as distortion and illusion.

That is why I am doing my utmost to develop a rational integrated Teacher understanding that uses scientific logic, includes normal everyday living, explains the supernatural and alien realms, describes human behavior including the human MBTI® divisions, extends to psychology and neurology, and contains a theologically sufficient analysis of Christianity. If the aliens invade, if there is a shift of from the material third density to the spiritual third density, then this is what humans will need to preserve their sanity.

The Fourth to Seventh Density

The seven densities of experience are also related to seven chakras or rays of energy, as well as seven different types of personal bodies. If we consider these together, then it may be easier to decipher their meaning. Energy is supposed to enter up from the ground and then travel up through these various rays. The level which it reaches depends upon the personal maturity of the individual. The ultimate goal is to express all seven rays in balance—leading to white light. Notice that a Teacher-based alien being would naturally describe personal existence in terms of waves and energy.

The theory of mental symmetry is also based in the idea of personal growth and mental wholeness, so it should be possible to find some common ground between these two approaches.

What is the connection between the density of a planet and the rays used by a person? According to the Law of One, the inhabitants of a density one planet will be driven by the first red ray, the beings of a second density planet will be driven by the second orange ray, and so on. However, starting with the third density and the third yellow ray, it is possible for individuals to move beyond the level of their planet and develop all rays.

So, if a person can develop all seven rays within a single lifetime, then why does it take a planet 25,000 to 75,000 years to advance one ray? As I said before, the concepts of the Law of One may make sense, but the timescale seems rather questionable.

The concept of different types of bodies, each associated with different levels of energy, is an idea which does make sense, and it is also described rather extensively in the Bible in 1 Corinthians 15.

1) The Red Ray is connected with the first density and the ‘chemical body’.  Physical activity activates this ray. If you want to activate this ray, then you need to do physical exercise. This is a fairly basic lesson, but also one which we city-dwelling humans often forget.

2) The Orange Ray is related to the second density and the purely physical body. Ra calls it the body without self-awareness, a functioning physical body without spiritual life, which is activated in team sports or travelling from here to there. I suggest that this corresponds to childish identity: “I want to go somewhere. I am better than you.” Whenever I have primitive personal desire, then the orange ray is being activated.

For those who practice self-denial, the tendency is to feel that physical desire is wrong and that it needs to be suppressed. In contrast, I would agree with the Law of One that the goal is not to suppress physical desire, but rather to express it as an aspect of higher thought. As Ra rightly points out, each of us is a mind/body/spirit complex.

3) The Yellow Ray: This is the ray of self-awareness and personal interaction. It also describes the physical body in which a person lives in the current third density world. I should point out that there is a difference between personal identity and self-awareness. Mercy content is sufficient for personal identity; I have emotional experiences and they create a sense of personal identity within Mercy thought. Personal identity is second density; it is orange ray. But in order to have self-awareness, Perceiver thought must learn facts about ‘me’. And, the same facts that define ‘me’ also define ‘he’, ‘she’, and ‘them’ and allow ‘me’ to interact with other people. When the mind is programmed by idolatry, then Mercy idolatry is required to define ‘me’ and Teacher idolatry is needed to produce self-awareness. This is third density thought.

4) The Green Ray: This is the ray of  ‘compassion and all-forgiving love’. This is the ray which will drive earth when it makes its supposed transition to the fourth density, and it corresponds to a body which is normally invisible to the human eye.

Several factors from the theory of mental symmetry can be used to work out the nature of the green ray of love. (Yes, I know, it sounds like a corny sci-fi movie title from the 1970s: Gaia and the Green Ray of Love.)

First, it appears that there are two kinds of emotion. There is the normal emotion of Mercy pain and pleasure, along with the normal Teacher pain of order and disorder. This normal emotion involves individual experiences and isolated items. However, there is a more intense form of hyper-emotion that comes into play when dealing with groups and networks of items. When a mental network falls apart, then the mind experiences hyper-pain. When two mental networks come together, then the result is hyper-pleasure. In other words, hyper-emotion involves integration and fragmentation. The greatest physical hyper-pleasure is sex; the deepest physical hyper-pain comes from dismemberment or death. You can find a longer discussion of hyper-emotion here.

Second, as far as I can tell, the door between the human and alien world only opens up when dealing with hyper-emotion. In line with this, human sacrifice and vestal virgins played an integral role in ancient religious practice. Similarly, I suggest that personal transformation will only occur if a person goes through mental death and resurrection. And, the transition from the third density to fourth density is supposed to open up the gateway to the alien realm. Quoting Ra: “The penetration of the veil may be seen to begin to have its roots in the gestation of green-ray activity, that all-compassionate love which demands no return.”

Third, the green ray is the ray of love. Love is an emotional attachment to a person for who he is, and not for any specific thing he does. It interacts with the whole person. In other words, it transcends normal emotion and deals with hyper-emotion.

Finally, the Law of One makes an interesting statement regarding sex and the green ray: “The green-ray energy transfer, being almost without exception the case in sexual energy transfer prior to veiling.” This is interesting for two reasons. First, it associates the hyper-pleasure of sex with the green ray. Second, it suggests that sex is supposed to be more than just a physical encounter but that it should also have a spiritual dimension.

Referring to the green ray energy transfer possible during sex, Ra says, “this energy transfer being blocked only if one or both entities have fear of possession or of being possessed, of desiring possession or desiring being possessed.” This is consistent with my suggestion that hyper-pleasure can only occur within a safe environment. Saying this another way, integration requires a stable structure. If the structure itself falls apart during the hyper-pleasure of integration, then what will be felt instead is the hyper-pain of fragmentation—love will be squelched by personal fear and apprehension.

In line with this concept that the green ray involves hyper-emotion and networks, Ra also defines the fourth density as being related to the group: “Fourth density is the density of love. Those who have successfully chosen come together with others of like mind in order to pursue that choice, either towards loving self or loving others.” For minds that are based in idolatry, it could be that the primary way of thinking in terms of networks is to band together with a number of other individuals.

According to Ra, this green ray love of the group can be either positive or negative. Thus, the Service-to-Self and the Service-to-Others that began in the third density continues in the fourth green ray density.

Negative green ray love exhibits itself as love for a specific elite group which dominates the rest of society:

“The negatively oriented being will be one who feels that it has found power that gives meaning to its existence precisely as the positive polarization does feel. This negative entity will strive to offer these understandings to other-selves, most usually by the process of forming the elite, the disciples, and teaching the need and rightness of the enslavement of other-selves for their own good. These other-selves are conceived to be dependent upon the self and in need of the guidance and the wisdom of the self.”

Thus, we see emotional identification with a integrated network, and that network of people is gaining its emotional pleasure from enslaving others. In line with this, Ra states that the ‘Orion Group’ is trying to control the earth with the help of human confederates. Is a human elite trying to rule the world? After the global financial crisis of 2008, it became rather obvious that some group behind the scenes is controlling the economy, and that this hidden group is rather brazen in its exploitation of the common man. And if one looks at the military and their fascination with super weapons, this ruling elite does appear to have alien backing, and it is setting itself up for open deployment in the near future. Enough said.

As for the positive green ray of love, it may be related to love for nature and love for the environment, or in a religious vein, love for God.

Do these two streams interact? Very much so. Historically speaking, the Christian church has experienced its greatest growth and its deepest love for a supernatural God when being persecuted by a dominant, enslaving, elite minority. And, if humanity denying aliens ever made a major appearance, then loving the physical world and the natural environment would take on positive spiritual dimensions. When one studies the downfall of communism, two of the major groups that stood against the regime and helped to bring about its downfall where the persecuted Christians and the environmental groups. The nuclear disaster at Chernobyl was a major factor in shining the light of truth upon the hidden ways of the Soviet Union.

Thus, we have love of self and love of others. Therefore, the two paths of Service-to-Self and Service-to-Others could continue within a fourth density environment. However, I suggest that this is not the whole story. But first let us finish the other rays.

5) The Blue Ray is the ray of wisdom, associated with the fifth density. It is the ‘radiation of self regardless of any actions from others.’ Moving from the yellow to the green ray is difficult. In contrast, “once the green ray has been achieved, the ability of the entity to enter blue ray is immediate and is only awaiting the efforts of the individual.”

“There is always some difficulty in penetrating blue primary energy for it requires that which your people have in great paucity; that is, honesty. Blue ray is the ray of free communication with self and with otherself.” “The blue ray entity is a co-Creator.”

So far, the primary drive has come from Mercy emotions. When a person acts in a certain way in the absence of feedback from others, this is a sign that Teacher emotions are at play. The Christian term for this is righteousness. I act the way I do simply because it is consistent with my Teacher understanding. And, because an image of God is based in Teacher understanding, in a sense I become a co-Creator with God. The Law of One would interpret this as actually becoming God; mental symmetry, in contrast, realizes that every Teacher theory needs to be supported by Server actions—when I apply what I learn, then my learning sticks. My finite Server application may bring mental stability to my universal Teacher understanding of God; I may co-operate with God, but this does not make me the same as God.

And if you want to add Teacher understanding to personal action, then you must also be honest about yourself. You cannot understand something which is hidden and shrouded in deception. In addition, Teacher strategy is the part of the mind that communicates. Finally, wisdom is a combination of personal Mercy application and Teacher understanding.

Thus, the blue ray appears to describe using Teacher understanding to guide the love-driven interaction of mental networks and societies. And, if fourth density existence were to bring people face to face with the alien realm of Teacher emotions, then they would eventually have to learn how to deal with these emotions.

I should mention that I am assuming here that we are looking at a description of human space/time, and not a flipped analysis of alien time/space. The various elements do seem to make sense from the human perspective.

6) The Indigo Ray: “In sixth density, the density of unity, the positive and negative paths must needs take in each other for all now must be seen as love/light and light/love.” The indigo ray is called the ray of the adept. “The adept then begins to do less of the preliminary or outer work, having to do with function, and begins to effect the inner work which has to do with being. As the adept becomes a more and more consciously crystallized entity it gradually manifests more and more of that which it always has been since before time; that is, the One Infinite Creator.”

“The indigo ray is opened only through considerable discipline and practice largely having to do with acceptance of self, not only as the polarized and balanced self but as the Creator, as an entity of infinite worth. This will begin to activate the indigo ray.” “In this body form is substance and you may only see this body as that of light as it may mold itself as it desires.”

Finally, a higher self emerges: “I am Ra. You are existing at all levels simultaneously. It is specifically correct that your Higher Self is you in mid-sixth-density and, in your way of measuring what you know of as time, your Higher Self is your self in your future.”

Let us see if we can make some sense of these quotes. Ra says that at the sixth level, the two paths of Service-to-Self and Service-to-Others come together, leading to the emergence of a higher self. He states that all is now love/life. He says that the sixth level person comes to the conclusion that he is one with the Infinite Creator.

As I have mentioned earlier, the whole idea of finite me being the same as the infinite God is a logical contradiction which lies at the core of Buddhist-like worship. It is also blatant Christian heresy. Even basic mathematics tells you that finite is not the same as infinite. However, what Buddhism and ‘Buddhism’ are really trying to produce is the feeling that I am one with God. This is what the mystical worshipper wants to sense when he focuses himself fully upon God.

For the human, finite personal identity produces Mercy feelings; the mental image of an Infinite God generates Teacher emotions of universality. If these two feelings can be generated at the same time, then a person will feel that he is one with God.

Can this be achieved without declaring all content to be illusion and distortion? I suggest that the answer lies in Kant’s categorical imperative. In essence, this states that any action which can be stated as a universal principle is morally good, whereas any action which can only be performed by a subset of individuals is morally evil. For instance, is stealing good or bad? Well, is it possible to conceive of a society in which everyone steals? No. Because, if everyone stole, then there would be nothing left to steal. Instead, stealing only helps a person if most people do not steal and only a few people do. Therefore, according to the categorical imperative, stealing is morally wrong.

If a person is guided by the categorical imperative, then he will act only in ways that are consistent with universal Teacher understanding. He is not thinking about service to self or service to others, or good or bad. Instead, his behavior is defined by what is—an eternal definition of existence. When the very character of a person is consistent with eternal, universal Teacher understanding, then a person is emotionally united with God, because a human image of God is based in eternal, universal Teacher understanding. Such a person now has infinite worth, not because he patted himself on the back and declared himself to be deity, but rather because his personal character has been formed out of mental material that has been tested to have infinite worth. And how does one discover material of infinite worth? By evaluating it according to Kant’s categorical imperative.

Saying this in alien Teacher language, ‘all is now love/life’.

And when a person integrates the two paths of Service-to-Self and Service-to-Others, then a higher self can finally emerge. In the language of mental symmetry, when you stop following Mercy idolatry and Teacher idolatry, then you can use Perceiver thought to define personal identity.

That brings us to the end of our analysis of rays, because:

7) The Violet Ray: “The violet ray is a thermometer or indicator of the whole.” It is “the sum and substance of the mind/body/spirit complex.” “The violet ray is constant and does not figure into a discussion of the functions of ray activation in that it is the mark, the register, the identity, the true vibration of an entity.”

In summary, it appears that the progression contained in the Law of One appears to describe how growth can be achieved within a context—such as the Law of One—which does its best to pursue idolatry and deny mental content.

Let us summarize the six steps:

1) The four simple modes of Perceiver, Mercy, Teacher, and Server begin to operate.

2) Childish ‘me’ emerges as Mercy idolatry fills Mercy thought with emotional experiences which program the other modes in a warped way.

3) Morality, mental stability, and self-image form as Teacher idolatry uses revealed truth and blind faith to program the mind with Teacher words and Perceiver truth. People choose to focus either on Mercy idolatry, leading to Service-of-Self, or Teacher idolatry, leading to Service-of-Others.

4) Emotional interaction moves past the individual to the group and the network level. The door to the alien realm opens up. Some groups love themselves and pursue alien power in order to enslave other groups. Other groups are motivated by loving something that is bigger than themselves.

5) People move past human Mercy emotions to be motivated solely by the Teacher emotions of understanding. This leads to personal honesty, righteousness, and true communication. Both selfishness and selflessness can be guided by the emotions of Teacher understanding.

6) The two paths combine into one. Kant’s categorical imperative becomes the motivation for personal behavior, leading to emotional integration between ‘me’ and my image of God. The ‘higher self’ emerges.

A Better Way

This describes one possible path for a society. However, I suggest that there is a better way. This better way requires modifying the Law of One from saying that the finite creature is the infinite Creator to saying that the finite is an expression of Divine Infinity. In order to do this, one must add just enough complexity to the Infinity of God so that all specifics can be contained as rational permutations, subsets, aspects, and symmetries of the Universal Being. When this is done, then objects do not have to be disregarded as illusion, sequences don’t have to be derided as distortions, and free will does not have to be rejected as confusion. Instead, Perceiver facts, Server sequences, and Contributor choices can exist as finite expressions within the framework of an Infinite God.

This better way is based upon the content of Christianity, but it moves beyond the method of blind faith in a holy book. According to the Bible, God is a Trinity with seven spirits. And, the Bible says that ‘man was created in the image of God’. The theory of mental symmetry divides the mind up into seven different interacting modes of thought, and suggests that each person is conscious in one of these seven modes, resulting in seven different cognitive styles, using a list of seven cognitive styles which came originally from the Bible. Three of these seven modes of thought—Teacher, Contributor, and Mercy—appear to have the ability to concentrate, and the behavior of these three modes corresponds to the Biblical description of the three persons of the Trinity. The diagram of mental symmetry takes these seven modes of thoughts and ties them together in a specific way. This simple description of the Infinite God appears to be sufficiently complex to generate both human and alien specific content, including the concept of both human space/time and alien time/space.

And even Ra likes the number seven: “We have the number seven repeated from the macrocosm to the microcosm in structure and experience.”

Now let us go back to the third density, where Teacher idolatry uses holy books, textbooks, and government laws to teach morality. Suppose that one discovers a rational Teacher understanding which includes God, religion, UFOs, psychology, neurology, history, personality, Christianity, and morality, as the theory of mental symmetry appears to do.

First, the division between Service-to-Self and Service-to-Others disappears, replaced by enlightened self-interest. That is because Perceiver thought has sufficient confidence to handle Mercy emotions, leading to a rational definition of ‘me’ located within a rational map of value. Thus, the ‘higher self’ emerges at the beginning of the process instead of the end. Personal identity can now pursue personal Mercy goals, while the map of understanding can be held together by Teacher feelings. Saying this another way, the Teacher idolatry of soft science, which is held together by experts with Mercy status, is replaced by hard science, which is driven by the Teacher emotions associated with understanding a general theory. And, because hard science uses logic and rational thought, childish identity and its Mercy idolatry are replaced by adult identity with its Perceiver map of Mercy value. This process is described in great detail in my analysis of Christianity. In terms of MBTI®, this step uses a rational Teacher understanding to mentally integrate Thinking and Feeling.

Second, one can now make a graceful entrance into the fourth density of alien encounters, because the essence of human experience has been translated into the alien language of Teacher theory. So, one does not have to remove the physical world in order to make way for a spiritual world, because the fourth density of love has been defined using the rational language of the natural third density. In the fourth density, the struggle is to combine Perceiving with Judging. I view this struggle as a quest to contain the ‘steam’ of Perceiving within the ‘boiler’ of Judging in order to produce useful work. This struggle is hard enough in normal life, but imagine living as a human in a supernaturally charged atmosphere and trying to contain supernatural energy within the container of a physical body. If you want to see what normally happens when these two get together, attend a charismatic Christian service (or a similar meeting in other religions). The spiritual energy is there: People thrash, jump up and down, bellow like animals, and get slain in the spirit. But not much of this energy is channelled into useful work.

Third, because idolatrous childish identity has become transformed into rational adult identity, one already has the honest communication of the fifth blue ray. And, since Teacher understanding was used to define adult identity, it is possible for actions to be consistent with understanding. And when actions and words become consistent, then Sensing and iNtuition are united.

Fourth, one can define morality in terms of Kant’s categorical imperative, leading to the mental integration of the sixth indigo ray. And, when all personal behavior is guided by a single universal Teacher theory, then there is a strong drive to integrate this internal theory with external understanding, leading to the bridging of Introverted and Extraverted.

Saying this simply, the Law of One states that the ideal person uses all seven rays in balance. If that is true for the individual, then why are there seven different physical densities, each separated from the other by an iron curtain of total planetary destruction? Why not strive to reach the point where one can express all seven densities at once? If the goal for the mind is integrated wholeness, why shouldn’t it also be the goal for the world. Of course, from the viewpoint of an alien creature, this is not a problem, because alien time/space allows a person to simultaneously view cycles which are separated in human space/time by time. So, Ra can stand back from all of the human misery and say, “But, I can see all seven global densities at once. I don’t see any contradiction between the personal path and the global path.” That is like the mathematician who watches a nuclear war and smiles because he is seeing E=MC2 being demonstrated. It is love/life—but only for an alien who lives in Teacher emotions.

Finally, as I mentioned before, I am quite leery of any cosmic plan that describes its final step as merging back into union with the Infinite Creator: “At the seventh level or dimension, we shall, if our humble efforts are sufficient, become one with all, thus having no memory, no identity, no past or future, but existing in the all.”

When you add one to infinity, you do not get one + infinity. Instead you get infinity and the one disappears. That is what happens when objects are illusion and sequences are distortion. Eventually, the illusions and the distortions disappear. But I am one of these illusions. My person life describes one of these distortions. I don’t want to follow a plan that leads ultimately to suicide and personal annihilation.

However, when the finite becomes an expression of the infinite, then you end up with the scenario described at the end of the Christian Bible: Humans and angels continuing to live in the city of God in the presence of God.

You see, mystical worship and service of the ‘Infinite Creator’ may call the universe distortion and illusion, but it could never handle the universe actually becoming distortion and illusion, because the attitude of mysticism denies internal content. Something has to be solid—either the internal or the external. If you want the external to change, then you must put something solid in the internal. If the internal is not solid, then changing the external will cause you to recoil in horror and cling to the external status quo. Thus, I suggest that Buddhism and ‘Buddhism’ are ultimately contradictions in terms, because they call for external formlessness but deny the internal content this is required to handle such external formlessness.

And, Ra actually says the same thing, using different words:

“I am Ra. The frontal lobes of the brain will, shall we say, have much more use in fourth density. The primary mental/emotive condition of this large area of the so-called brain is joy or love in its creative sense. Thus the energies which we have discussed in relationship to the pyramids: all of the healing, the learning, the building, and the energizing are to be found in this area. This is the area tapped by the adept. This is the area which, working through the trunk and root of mind, makes contact with intelligent energy and through this gateway, intelligent infinity.”

What happens during the fourth density? The supernatural realm opens up and natural order begins to crumble. What gains significance when this transition occurs? The frontal lobes—the part of the brain which contains the internal world of thought.

In Conclusion

As is rather obvious, I approach the topic of aliens from a Christian bias. But that is not because I place blind faith in the Holy Bible. Instead, I have developed a general theory of human personality, and that theory appears to be compatible with the fundamental doctrines of Christianity.

However, this same theory can be used to analyze alien existence. I have used the model of mental symmetry to look at most of the topics covered by the Law of One, a primary source for New Age thought. It appears that the following principles apply to the material from the Law of One:

1) There is the fundamental flaw of achieving oneness by suppressing facts as illusion, sequences as distortion, and free will as confusion. When a universal theory or religion has to suppress most of its information in order to build its case, then that is not a very good case. In contrast, it appears that rationally based Christianity can achieve the same concept of Divine Unity while including facts, sequences and free will.

2) There is also the inhuman mindset of ignoring human pain and suffering. Ra talks a lot about love and compassion, but one certainly does not sense much Mercy compassion and personal empathy in the Law of One. Instead, one feels as if one is caught in an inhuman program being run by an impersonal Teacher computer. In contrast, Christianity says that Jesus came to live as a human on earth in order to save people from their sins. Ra rebels from any concept of personal morality and sin; Jesus gives us a system of morality, says that we are sinners, and then saves us from our sins. One is amoral and inhuman; the other is moral and human.

3) The Law of One contains a number of very interesting specific concepts regarding human space/time and alien time/space which make a lot of sense, as well as several keys insights about how living in a physical body allows progress to occur through the development of individuality. This material is interesting, and it appears to be accurate—but it also contradicts the Law of One.

4) The concept of seven densities and seven rays also seems to make sense as a progression describing mental development. However, this appears to be describing the path taken by a society that is driven primarily by Mercy idolatry. In contrast, I suggest that it is possible to come up with a superior path of personal development if one lets go of Mercy idolatry and pursues rational Teacher understanding. This superior path combines the approach of rational logic with the content of Christian doctrine.

5) This better method allows one to combine the various densities and not just move from one density to the next. And, it allows finite creatures to coexist with the infinite creator and not ultimately lose their personal identity by merging once more with the infinite.

One final comment. I am well aware that I am not just analyzing a philosophy, but rather attempting to dissect a supposed transmission from aliens that reside outside of normal space/time. How can one protect oneself against beings who use Perceiver power to manipulate reality? One very effective way is through the use of the logical contradiction, because this pits one Perceiver fact against another, in essence turning the Perceiver power of the alien back on himself. However, I have also attempted to go beyond pointing out the logical contradictions that are present in the Law of One to suggesting how the specific elements contained within the Law of One can be assembled in a way that is logically consistent and that does preserve the Unity of God.

In other words, I suggest that there is a Law of One, and not just a Verbal Repetition of One.
